Rachel Otuoma, the popular TikToker and interior designer, has hit back at critics who have been urging her to remove her wedding ring following the death of her husband, former footballer Ezekiel Otuoma. In an emotional TikTok Live session, Rachel made it clear that she would not be taking off the ring, explaining that it is a symbol of her eternal love and commitment to her late husband.
Rachel shared that she has never removed the wedding ring since her marriage to Otuoma in 2015, even during the difficult moment of burying him. She expressed her frustration at those who have criticized her decision, saying, “What reason would I have to remove it now? Even in my old photos, I always have it on. Why would I take it off now? People just want to create stories.”
She also defended her choice to honor her husband’s memory by wearing the ring, saying that she had been advised that it was perfectly acceptable. “No matter who you are, I will keep wearing my husband’s ring. Niliambiwa kuvaa ring haina shida yoyote,” she stated.
In addition to the wedding ring controversy, Rachel also responded to those irritated by her frequent mentions of Otuoma in her posts. She made it clear that she will continue to honor his memory and that Otuoma will “never leave my mouth.” Her defiant stance resonated with many of her followers, who continue to support her through her grieving process.
The late Otuoma passed away on December 21, 2024, after a prolonged illness. Since his passing, Rachel has been openly mourning, with a requiem mass and burial held in his honor in January 2025. She has visited his grave site, continuing to share her emotional journey with her followers.
Despite the critics, Rachel remains committed to honoring the love she shared with her husband and has no intentions of stopping anytime soon.
