Abel Mutua’s Message to Men

Abel’s bold message centered on the need for men to step up and confront inappropriate behavior, whether in friendships, workplaces, or familial relationships.

“Men, let’s have this conversation, please. They say you know the true quality of a man by how he behaves next to another man who has more money than him. If you see your boss making a mistake, for instance, talking to ladies arrogantly, do you have the guts to correct him?” Abel questioned.

He further asked:
“Maybe it’s not the boss. Maybe it’s your friend, your brother, or your uncle. If he makes a mistake, do you call him out and try to correct it? Or do you shy away from holding your fellow man accountable? We don’t talk to each other, and it shows. But why? This silence will come back to bite us. Don’t say I never warned you.”

Breaking the Culture of Silence

Speaking exclusively to TUKO.co.ke, Abel elaborated on his views, highlighting how men often avoid tough conversations. He noted that many shy away from discussing sensitive topics such as masculinity, respect, and personal growth.

“Most men believe in respect and fairness, yet very few are willing to speak up when they see harmful behavior,” he said. “There’s a growing need for men to engage in open, honest conversations with each other. Many feel left out or defensive when discussions about personal accountability arise.”

Abel encouraged men to challenge the culture of silence and embrace constructive criticism as a means of personal and collective growth.

A Call for Positive Masculinity

Abel’s remarks underscored the need to redefine masculinity and build a culture of accountability among men. He urged his peers to have uncomfortable yet necessary conversations that challenge harmful behavior and encourage respect, fairness, and growth.

A Testament to Strong Friendships

In addition to his stance on accountability, Abel shared heartwarming anecdotes about the support he has received from his friends. He praised Dr. Ofweneke for stepping in as the MC at his wedding and acknowledged DJ Mo and Size 8 for their guidance during his early days in the entertainment industry.

Abel’s call to action has inspired a broader conversation about how men can foster healthier relationships and redefine what it means to be a strong and supportive friend. His message resonates with a generation ready to embrace change, accountability, and personal growth.
