YouTuber Oga Obinna has addressed the changes in his weekly show following his fallout with content creator Dem wa Facebook. Obinna explained that his decision to rebrand the show was not due to any bad blood between them, but rather to ensure that the new format with his new co-host, Kartelo, would be different enough to avoid unnecessary comparisons.

In a recent interview, Obinna shared that after parting ways with Dem wa Facebook, he made the conscious choice to produce different content from what they previously worked on together. He noted that the new format was designed to offer a fresh start, free from comparisons. “We wanted to have a level playing field so that people cannot start comparing this one and the other,” he said.

Obinna also revealed that he removed all past content featuring Dem wa Facebook to mark this new direction. He explained that while both formats may share similarities, the current show featuring Kartelo appealed to a different audience. “The other one was more official, but this one is not because Kartelo also appeals to watu wako kwa base,” he explained, referring to the more laid-back vibe of the new format.

Addressing speculation surrounding his decision to remove past content, Obinna clarified that it was not done out of ill will. He emphasized that the removal was not an act of bad blood, but rather a way to prevent unnecessary financial demands from fans. “People had also started saying that since we are not working together but the content is still there and she is there, then I should pay her for it, yet, they don’t even know the nature of the agreement we had together,” he explained.

Obinna further dismissed claims that the success of the rebranded show was tied to the previous format. He made it clear that he owns the platform and has full control over the direction of its content. “The platform has always belonged to me. No one can later claim that the previous show with Dem wa Facebook or anyone else was responsible for the success of the rebranded version,” he asserted.

Through these changes, Obinna is making it clear that his show’s success is based on his vision and content creation, with no ties to past collaborations. As he continues to innovate with Kartelo, Obinna’s focus remains on creating content that resonates with his audience.
