Veteran comedian and content creator Flaqo has shared details of the emotional pain he experienced after ending his relationship with Keranta. The two were considered a power couple, and Flaqo often surprised Keranta with lavish gifts, including a brand-new car on her 22nd birthday.
In an interview on the Mic Cheque Podcast, Flaqo discussed how the breakup affected him personally and professionally. He recalled reading online comments that spread false rumours about his private life, including questions about his circumcision. The comedian admitted the rumours were distressing but chose to remain calm instead of confronting his ex. “That time, so many things were going on, and I was like, should I go text my ex… But I decided to keep cool. You have no idea how I was like, tomorrow at 11 am I am showing people, and the bad thing about going through a heartbreak, you can do that. But I thank God we all got past that,” he said.
Flaqo also revealed that he kept the breakup private from his friends, which made him feel isolated. He continued working on content and going to the gym, avoiding alcohol as a coping mechanism. His project manager eventually noticed changes in his behaviour, prompting Flaqo to open up. He now maintains his gym routine and has moved on from the relationship.
The comedian’s past gestures of affection, including the car gift, drew public attention. He initially surprised Keranta with a romantic picnic before leading her to a gated compound where the car was parked. She later confirmed that Flaqo repossessed the vehicle after their split, which sparked mixed reactions online.
Flaqo’s aunt, Nyakwar Janeko, commented on the situation, criticizing Keranta for not insisting the car be registered in her name, while praising her for being respectful. She also noted that Flaqo was not suited for a woman like Keranta.
Flaqo’s experience highlights the personal challenges of public relationships and the importance of managing heartbreak privately while maintaining personal well-being.
