King Mswati’s eighth wife, Senteni Masango – known as Inkhosikati LaMasango – was found dead on Friday 6th April after allegedly committing suicide.
A week before, she had buried her sister Nombuso Masango. Earlier allegation indicated that the king who has now bagged 14 wives had denied her chances to attend the funeral, throwing her into a deeper depression.
The fallen mother of 2 girls is believed to have overdosed herself on 40 amitriptyline capsules – widely used to block the long-term (chronic) pain of some rheumatic conditions and treat depression and related disorders.
She was widely known for her helping hands for the poor and her painting hands which she used to raise money for the poor.
King Mswati III chose her as the 8th wife when she was just 18 years old in 1999.
But her royal marriage would be challenged by later revelation that she had a record for truancy, poor grades and she was a high-school dropout and a rebel.
In 2004, the king’s other two wives left him and fled under controversial incidents .
Putsoana Hwala and Delisa Magwaza fled under oppression allegations separately .
