The search for a better place for ex- US President Barack Obama to land in the Nyanza region is over !
According to the Nelson Mandela Foundation and the Obama Foundation, the former American President Obama is expected in the country by July 16th with at least 350 celebs and dignitaries, among them the richest woman in America, Oprah Winfrey.
His one day tour will begin with a state welcome from President Uhuru Kenyatta at the State House then proceed to his ancestral home in Kógelo where his father Barack Obama Senior was born.
Details of Obama’s meeting with NASA leader Raila Odinga are still fuzzy.
He will then leave Kógelo in Nyanza region and fly to South Africa where he will deliver a speech at Nelson Mandela Annual Lecture in Johannesburg.
On his itinerary, Obama will not have his family on board, rather top personalities such as professionals, celebrities, philanthropists, clergy, activists, top lawyers, businessmen, diplomats and friends.
Confirmed personalities so far are business woman Opray Winfrey, Senegalese musician Akon, Zimbabwe’s music maestro Oliver Mutukudzi, NBA Africa senior director Will Mbiakop and billionaire Nigerian businessman Aliko Dangote.
Different Kisumu city
