Grafitti is a new culture in Kenya’s art industry yet when you mention matatu graffiti the whole topic looks so octogenarian.
The culture started way back when private transport sector wanted to compete with the public transport in bid to transport Nairobi city commuters to and from their work stations.
The plot did not only prove a success but spread far and wide across Kenya with big cities such as Kisumu and Mombasa joining the band wagon.
The culture, is slowly gaining weight in other motor sectors.
Tuk-tuks have already embraced the act of colouring their PSV carriages with nicely done art work.
Boda Boda’s also have sought to fight for customers using the same graffiti culture. And one such is the latest rider poised to take over the streets with a ‘Black Panther’ graffiti boda boda.
