About the Public Service Internship Programme (PSIP)
The Public Service Internship Programme (PSIP) is a Government initiative aimed at empowering the youth by providing them with hands-on experience and skill-building opportunities. Our mission is to equip college graduates with the necessary tools to enhance their employment prospects, foster valuable networking connections, and even inspire entrepreneurship endeavors.
Requirements for Appointment
To be eligible for an internship position, candidates must meet the following criteria:
- Bachelor’s Degree: Possess a Bachelor’s degree in any discipline from a recognized university, showcasing your commitment to academic excellence.
- Year of Graduation: Have graduated not earlier than the year 2017, ensuring that recent graduates get an equal opportunity to participate.
- Computer Proficiency: Demonstrate proficiency in computer skills, as digital literacy is essential in today’s interconnected world.
Internship Duties and Responsibilities
As a Public Service Intern, you will have a chance to contribute actively to the country’s development while honing your skills and gaining invaluable experience. Your duties will include, but are not limited to:
- Assigned Tasks: Undertaking duties agreed upon and assigned by your supervisors, giving you practical exposure to the public service domain.
- Skill Documentation: Documenting the skills and knowledge you acquire during your deployment, building a robust foundation for your future career.
- Mentorship and Responsibility: Actively participating in relevant mentorship activities and taking on additional responsibilities designed to enrich your learning experience throughout the programme.
Duration of Internship
The internship program is for a duration of twelve (12) months, allowing you ample time to immerse yourself in the public service environment, acquire knowledge, and develop essential competencies. Please note that the internship is non-renewable.
Stipend
We understand the importance of supporting our interns during their learning journey. Therefore, successful candidates will be paid a stipend at a rate determined by the Government, ensuring you can focus on your growth without financial worries.
Certificate
Upon successful completion of the Internship Programme, you will be awarded a certificate, recognizing your dedication and hard work during the internship.
