Deputy President William Ruto has revealed fresh details on how the land that his business, Weston Hotel was fraudulently acquired via dubious means.

He said that he was aware that the hotel was built on a land that was acquired using illegal means.

His shocking revelations came on during BBC talk show dubbed HardTalk hosted by Stephene Sackur.

He solely laid blame on the initial owners, who he lamented that they sold him a land that they knew was not correctly bought.

“For your information, Weston Hotel sits only on 0.7 hectares of land…, though many people would want to think believe that it occupies half of Nairobi.” DP Ruto told BBC

DP Ruto was also questioned about the IPSOS Synovate recent research which ranked him as the most corrupt politician in the country.

“If you look carefully at that Ipsos list which rated me as the most corrupt, that list did not only have William Ruto but other leaders such as former president, the current president, and the former Prime Minister Raila Odinga… Specifically, most of the current political leaders appeared in that list. This will only tell you that the whole corruption story has been politicised.” DP Ruto explained.
