Kenyan comedian Eric Omondi has once again proven that he is more than just an entertainer—he is a man of action and compassion. His latest act of kindness has transformed the life of Consolata Aoko Oduya, a grandmother from Homa Bay County whose story touched hearts across the nation.
Aoko went viral after arriving at her grandchildren’s school carrying six chickens in a desperate attempt to settle part of a KSh 245,000 school fees balance. Images of her sitting at the school’s administration block with the children and chickens spread rapidly online, capturing the attention and sympathy of Kenyans.
Moved by her courage and determination, Eric Omondi stepped in through his Sisi Kwa Sisi Initiative. Within days, he had rallied his fans and well-wishers to raise over KSh 800,000 in support of the family.
In a heartfelt video shared on social media, Eric was seen visiting Aoko and her grandchildren before escorting them to a KCB branch in Kendu Bay. There, he revealed that KSh 600,000 would be deposited into Aoko’s account to secure future college education for the grandchildren. The remaining funds were allocated to help Aoko launch a small fish-selling business, giving her a sustainable income stream to support her family.
“This is God’s work,” Aoko said emotionally as she thanked Eric and everyone who had contributed. “Thank you Eric Omondi. God bless you.”
Eric captioned the video with gratitude: “Team Sisi Kwa Sisi God bless you 🙏. We raised over KSh 800,000. All school requirements are sorted, tumefungulia Mum account, tukamwekea 600K to support the Children’s College, na yeye anafungua biashara ya Samaki.”
This isn’t the first time Eric Omondi has stepped up to support struggling Kenyans. Recently, he helped an orphaned boy in Nyamira County return to school and even mobilized resources to build him a new home.
Eric Omondi continues to use his influence for good, turning viral stories of hardship into testimonies of hope. His actions speak volumes about the power of empathy, unity, and collective generosity in changing lives—one family at a time.
