In a story that shocked the nation, Evans Kosgei, a young man deeply in love, took to Twitter to broadcast his heinous act: the murder of his longtime girlfriend, Jackline. What began as a tale of teenage love and sacrifice turned into a tragic ending, leaving a community reeling in disbelief and sorrow.

Evans and Jackline’s journey started in high school, where their love seemed unbreakable. Despite facing disownment from her father due to an unplanned pregnancy, Evans stood by Jackline, taking on the responsibility of providing for their growing family. He sacrificed his own education and livelihood to support Jackline through her studies at Muranga University.

However, as their relationship progressed, cracks began to appear. Jackline’s infidelity, fueled by the attention of other men and the allure of a seemingly better life, tore at the foundation of their once-solid bond. Despite Evans’ forgiveness and pleas for her to remain faithful, Jackline continued her affair with Shadrack, leaving Evans feeling inadequate and betrayed.

The final blow came when Jackline’s father, who had once disowned her, approved of her relationship with Shadrack, further validating her choice to leave Evans. Feeling abandoned and emotionally shattered, Evans reached his breaking point on March 9th, when he allegedly committed the ultimate act of betrayal: murder and went into hiding.

Before Jackline’s tragic demise, Evans Kosgei had taken to social media to level accusations of infidelity against her. He alleged that Jackline had intentions of leaving him despite his sacrifices, including selling all his possessions to finance her education at Murang’a University.

Through a series of Tweets, Kosgei expressed his despair, vowing to join his deceased wife, as life had lost its meaning for him. Evans’ lifeless body was discovered hanging from a tree in Thika on March 11th.
