We are at a point where football in Kenya should become a throwback story for many fans. The Stars have thrown in the towel after standing a long period of suffering, and their form has been displayed in their recent match performance.
Last weekend they just lost 2-1 to Sierra Leon, and that was the begging of another level of critism.
But why should Harambee Stars demand an apology from the fans?
First, how can we expect our players to play a ‘high’ standard ball when they mearly earn less than USD 8 for each single day? One would be forced to seek for an alternative source of income, losing his focus in football plays a big role
Then, what a low class coach they have got? Stanley Okumbi has never won any local major cup, ever since he has been at his last job at Kariobangi Sharks. Okumbi has no taste of winning ways, and that rules him out.
Corruption has made dinner with top officials, making each player suffer at their own peril. The top lads earn so much at the expense of players.
Harambee Stars is the only public job from the government which pays so poorly.
Fans who are ver much aware of the predicament, only focus on the final display, they don’t realize that our players are not the problem.
In fact, 7 players from the Stars 11 are all favorites of international teams, meaning that they deserve better results then what they deserve.
Ironically, fans leave the Stars for European ball such as UEFA and EPL.
Kenyans fans have been upfront for the removal of low performing coaches such as Lius Van Gaal at Manchester United. This means that they can re-channel the same vigor to Kenyans.
Stars will soon just go off if we leave it to the cartels at the expense of EPL.
