Kamba gospel singer Fortune Mwikali has been keeping a low profile since her extravagant wedding to Joel Ngwangwa in July 2024. The couple’s lavish ceremony, held at Safari Park in Nairobi, captured public attention, especially when Fortune arrived at the venue in a helicopter, making headlines across Kenya. Now, less than a year after tying the knot, the couple has shared joyful news with their fans: they have welcomed their first child.

On June 6, 2025, Fortune and Joel welcomed their baby boy, Baron, marking a new chapter in their lives. This exciting announcement came after a private but colorful baby shower attended by close friends. Fortune has been sharing beautiful moments from her maternity journey, from stylish photo shoots to tender photos with her newborn. In some snapshots, she posed with a bouquet while Joel held a bouquet made of cash, highlighting their celebratory mood.

Fortune posted a heartfelt video from the hospital shortly after giving birth, where the happy couple smiled broadly as they posed with their son. The proud new mother was chauffeured home in a sleek black Mercedes-Benz G-Wagon, continuing the theme of luxury that defined their wedding day. “Finally Mukuli Junior is here ❤️. We say thank you, Lord, for this favour 🙏. Welcome our son, Baron 💪❤️,” she wrote on social media.

In celebration of their son’s arrival, Fortune released a new song titled “Barin Ndole,” accompanied by clips from the baby shower, the gender reveal, and moments at the hospital. She also shared a touching message: “Karibu duniani (welcome to the world) Kavisi Baron. We love you, our son. Mungu awapee watoto wale wanaomba furaha ya mwanamke ni kuitwa mama (May God bless all women praying for children to have kids).”

Fans have been quick to congratulate the gospel singer, flooding her social media pages with warm wishes. Admirers praised her radiant glow and expressed excitement for her new journey into motherhood. Messages like “Congratulations, Fortune,” “May the good Lord protect him always,” and “Baby Baron is blessed” dominated her comment sections. Fortune responded with gratitude, expressing how humbled and happy she felt by the outpouring of love.

The joyous news comes amid a difficult period for Fortune, who lost her father, Musyoka Mutonya, in a tragic incident in November 2024. The gospel singer has since been open about her grief, sharing memories of her father and the emotional funeral that followed.

Fortune Mwikali’s journey from a dazzling wedding to motherhood has been inspiring to many. As she embraces her role as a mother while continuing her music career, fans eagerly look forward to more milestones from the talented gospel artist.
