A youthful Minister in the newly constituted South Sudan government has sensationally claimed that he was ejected from a cabinet meeting in Juja by President Salva Kiir for “inappropriate dressing”.

Mabior Garang de Mabior, who happens to be the son of deceased Sudan People’s Liberation Army’s iconic leader Dr John Garang de Mabior, and a newly appointed Minister for Water and Irrigation in South Sudan’s Transitional Government was ejected from the first cabinet meeting on Thursday morning.

Mabior turned up for the meeting dressed in a fitting black suit, white shirt and black bow tie but was barred from accessing the meeting venue even after removing the bow tie “on the advice of Vice President Riek Machar.”

South Sudan’s Minister for Water and Irrigation, Mabior Garang de Mabior.

The minister later took to Facebook to rant over his humiliating experience.

“… After coming home and changing my bow tie at the advice of the First Vice President Dr Riek Machar Teny-dhuorgon… I returned to the Council of Ministers Meeting… only to be harassed and barred from entry by Salvador Kiir’s bodyguards… they should understand that this is TGONU (Transitional Government of National Unity) it will not be business as usual… change is here…” he charged.
