Eating avocado helps improve the mood of stressed, nervous or depressed people because it promotes the functioning of the nervous system.

This was reported by the Nutritionist at the Regional General Hospital number 1 of the Mexican Institute of Social Security (IMSS) in Tijuana, Rocio Romero Valdovinos.

According to the specialist, this fruit contains vitamins B and B6, which favor the optimal functioning of the nervous system, which is why it helps people with these conditions.

Romero stressed that the daily consumption of 100 grams of avocado has multiple benefits in the health of those who consume it.

He noted that avocado reduces levels of cholesterol, and is recommended for people with cardiovascular problems and high blood pressure.

This food strengthens different organs and tissues for their content of monounsaturated fats and 75 percent of oleic acid.

It is advisable to eat 100 grams of avocado daily, about a quarter of a piece, to lower cholesterol levels, glucose and improve blood circulation decrease nervous tension as explained in a statement issued

People with anaemia and diabetics can also see benefits in their health, because the avocado reduces the presence of digestive disorders, since it promotes digestion and in diabetics decreases glucose.

In children and adolescents, indicated the nutritionist, helps to an optimal development, since it is a food rich in potassium, iron and magnesium, important for these stages of growth.

However, due to its high caloric content, this food should not be abused, especially if one is overweight or obese.

It is suggested that athletes who are very exhausted and who spend a lot of calories consume it.
