Love is said to be found when least expected. You can find a love in a matatu, at work, at school, at a club and in many other places including via the internet. This therefore, means that there is a probability of having to go on a blind date with a person that you have just met online. Since there have been many incidences of people falling prey to predators who pretend to be love seekers, it is wise to observe the following things when going for a blind date to avoid falling victim of such people and to ensure there is a second date on the way.

1.Meet at a public place

When going for a date with someone that you do not know, it is wise and safe that you meet in a local and public place. This will ensure tour safety and this will make you feel at ease with your date. Avoid going on a date at private places as you may not know the kind of a person that you are meeting with. Good venues to go for a blind date should include; restaurants, parks and other public areas. A club may not be a good place to have a first blind date since it is too crowded with a lot of noise.

2.Carry enough money

Some Kenyan ladies really baffle me. How do you go on a blind date without enough money for your food and transport/fare? What if your date fails to show up, walks out on the date or decides that you should split the bill? Be an independent person and carry extra cash to ensure that you are not left stranded or forced ‘kuchonga viazi’ (to peel the restaurants potatoes).

3. Be yourself

When going for a blind date, it is important to be yourself. Do not portray yourself to be who your date prefers but rather who you really are. This way, your date will get a glimpse who you really are, what may offend you and which topics to avoid. This will ensure that you do not start a relationship that is based on lies and if your date likes you, then a second date is guaranteed.

Your perfect match might be browsing right now in search of you. Do not limit yourself but rather be open minded. Cheers in finding love!
