After the start of the new school year, those who were placed in universities far from home now have a whole new life waiting for them: personal finance management, management of tasks such as cleaning the space, preparing meals, paying current accounts, such as internet, mobile phone, etc.
In university residences, sharing rooms or homes, these first weeks can represent a turning point in the lives of many young people and if at first they choose to eat out, over time, it is not always the healthiest and cheapest option.
Eating in the school canteen, does not always the dish of the day – more economical – please? As such, most of the time many students end up adhering to other less healthy and more expensive options.
What many of these young people still do not know is that cooking doesn’t always have to be a lengthy and complicated task and that there are even several dishes, in addition to the fried egg, which take less than 30 minutes and can take less than 15 minutes. in the kitchen.
Today we suggest some alternatives here:
Meatballs in the oven with tomato sauce and zucchini and / or sweet potatoes
Just buy some at the butcher near home – or at the supermarket – some fresh meatballsor, alternatively, buy the minced meat and make your own meatballs, or still opt for fresh hamburgers. Season to taste with salt and pepper and / or sweet pepper and sprinkle with a tomato sauce that you took from home or that you just made.
For tomato sauce for example, you can make an onion and garlic stew, add the tomatoes, season to taste and, after cooking for 5 minutes, mash everything. You can use it as you like and, if it is over, store in a vacuum or freeze for the next use.
To accompany, you can peel and cut a courgette into thin slices or in a spiral shape, season with salt and olive oil and eventually some peppers and thus make a vegetarian paste. If you prefer, you can peel a sweet potato, cut it into slices and season it with olive oil, garlic powder, mixture of peppers and salt.
Other variations
If you are not in the habit of eating meat, you can choose to adapt this recipe to a fish dish. But be careful, if you choose salmon, being a fatty fish by nature, instead of tomato sauce choose to season it only with salt, lemon juice, garlic and a drizzle of olive oil. And in the case of hake, for example, you can do both options: tomato sauce, or just lemon juice, salt and olive oil.
Vegetarian Option
If you are a vegetarian, you can make a variation by diversifying the vegetables – you can also add chayote and pumpkin and make it with or without tomato sauce.
After this preparation, just take all the ingredients to the oven at 180º, together or in separate pyrexes for about 30 minutes, 20 in the case of the vegetarian option.
Have a good appetite and, if you have any left, you also have a meal for the next day. You can also accompany any of these options with a salad.
