The Davis & Shirtliff Group is the leading supplier of water and energy solutions in the region. The Group is Kenyan based and operates through a network of Kenyan branches as well as regional subsidiaries in Uganda, Tanzania, Zambia, Rwanda, South Sudan, Zimbabwe and DRC with a total complement of over 800 highly trained, professional staff. The company seeks to recruit two interns for Internet of Things (IoT) Software Development role in the Research & Development Team. Candidates who are successful in this program stand a chance to be deployed on permanent basis.
The successful candidate who will have demonstratable software development experience will be required to handle the following responsibilities:
- Maintain and improve Internet of Things Platform
- Automate cleaning and data analysis of device data
- Translate user requirements and use cases into functional applications.
- Ensure the best possible performance, quality, and responsiveness of web and mobile applications.
Key Qualifications:
- Fresh graduates with Upper 2nd class Honours degree in Computer Science/Engineering or closely related field from a recognized institution. University completion letter, supported by transcripts, pending graduation is also acceptable.
- Hands-on experience with programming languages such as Java, Python/R, JavaScript, SQL and PHP. Demonstrated through strong software development projects portfolio.
- Should have competence working with PHP frameworks: CodeIgniter/Laravel
- Develops excellent cross-platform Mobile Applications (Mainly for iOS and Android Deployment)
- Experience in UX wireframing and working with large data sets, using contemporary tools
- Familiarity with REST APIs and third-party API integrations.
