Janet Mbugua, a Kenyan media personality, has been appointed to the Board of Moving the Goalposts Kenya (MTG), a non-profit organization that uses sports as a tool for empowering girls and young women in the coastal region of Kenya. The organization has reached over 50,000 girls through its sports development programs, and Janet is excited to be a part of the team.
“I have been an ardent follower and supporter of their incredible work, and it’s an honor to serve them in this capacity and to join their family,” Janet said in a statement. “Thank you to MTG for entrusting me to scale the work that’s already being done.”
MTG has been working in Kenya since 2002, and its programs aim to provide girls and young women with the tools they need to navigate life’s challenges and become leaders in their communities. Through sports, MTG empowers girls to build their self-esteem, improve their physical health, and develop life skills such as teamwork and leadership.
Janet is not the only accomplished individual joining the MTG Board, as she noted in her statement. She will be working alongside other respected professionals who are passionate about the organization’s mission. Together, they will help MTG to continue its important work of empowering girls and young women in Kenya.
