A man who recently graduated from a Nairobi university has taken an unconventional path in his desperate job hunting mission.

Unemployed-man

Mr Gilbert Mutai, graduated from Technical University of Kenya in 2015 with a bachelor’s degree in Electrical Engineering, also holds a Diploma in Project Management but has been out of employment for the last one year.

He has now taken to the streets of Nairobi to ask for employment after repeated failed attempts to secure employment.

“I have been applying for employment for the last one year with no avail and yet I was one of the top students in my class. But so far nothing has come my way,” Mr Mutai told Nairobi News in the phone interview.

JOB INTERVIEW

The 25 year old man says he attended Rongai Secondary School in Nakuru before joining university.

“My parents live in Nakuru and now I’m being housed by a relative in Kawangware. But things are not easy, that is why I’m doing what I’m doing now to see if a potential employer can hire me,” he said.

But there could soon be some good news for Mr Mutai. He says he has been receiving several calls from people telling him to send his resume for job interviews after he embarked on his bizarre job hunting mission.

“I have been here for the last three days and people have called and I thank God because now I have interviews lined up for the next few days,” he said.
