Marriage Troubles and Hidden Struggles

Faith Therui tied the knot with Addison Cheruiyot in 2022, dreaming of a lasting partnership. However, the musician disclosed that 2024 became a year of emotional turmoil. “I was going through so much and hiding it from my fans. I faced significant challenges in my marriage,” she shared.

One of the most heartbreaking aspects of her marriage was her unwavering support for her husband, including paying his university fees. Faith explained that she wanted Addison to focus on his studies at Kabarak University, considering the unpredictability of a music career.

Financial Deception Uncovered

Faith’s trust was shattered when she discovered that her ex-husband had been dishonest about his tuition fees. Addison had presented doctored receipts showing that his fees per semester were KSh 135,000, while the actual amount was KSh 76,000.

The shocking revelation came when Faith bought a second-hand phone and found incriminating messages in the device. “I nearly died when I found out. I broke all the sufurias and our table. It was so painful,” she recounted.

Despite her efforts to build a stable future for them, the deceit deeply hurt Faith. “I told him to continue studying because I wanted us to have a secure future. But learning the truth broke me,” she added.

A Lesson Learned

Faith admitted that her fans had warned her about her relationship, but she ignored their advice. Reflecting on her decisions, she apologized to her supporters, saying, “I wanted marriage so badly because I had a child out of wedlock. I thought married life was sweet, but I was wrong. I did everything with my whole heart, but it wasn’t enough.”

The musician likened her experience to that of the late Kalenjin star Diana Chelele, who faced a troubled marriage before her tragic death.

Faith Therui’s story is a powerful reminder of the importance of trust and transparency in relationships. Despite the heartache, she remains focused on her music career and rebuilding her life.

Her openness about her failed marriage has resonated with many fans, sparking conversations about the realities of love, sacrifice, and the challenges of marriage.
