A mother has captured the attention of social media after she was spotted being caned mercilessly for defending her son.

It is believed that the son had been summoned by village elders for gross ‘indiscipline’ cases and was to be punished by receiving canes from the elders.

However, his mother could not accept the way her son was being punished, and decided to intervene, only to be caned instead of the son.

Bwana this is totally UNACCEPTABLE. Why do this to an elderly woman? Outright physical assault, these men MUST be arrested IMMEDIATELY. pic.twitter.com/KUtS1pGHie
