In May 2024, distressing viral videos of former TV journalist Kimani Mbugua sparked public concern, showing him in an emotional state and using vulgar language. These videos led to his hospitalization at a Mombasa institution, where he received treatment for mental health issues. Following his recovery, Mbugua is now hinting at a major comeback, sharing an optimistic message with his followers.

After his discharge from rehab, Mbugua took to social media, offering a glimpse of what’s to come. In a hopeful post, he said, “Fingers crossed, bated breath, breath in, breath out. It’s time Kimani Mbugua made a comeback, right? Something great is cooking, coming soon, sooner than you can imagine. Stay tuned.” His words have left fans eagerly anticipating his return.

Mbugua’s journey to recovery became a focal point of national attention after the distressing videos surfaced. The public response was overwhelmingly supportive, with many expressing concern for his well-being. Comedian Oga Obinna, along with former Nairobi Governor Mike Sonko, were quick to offer their support, helping Mbugua access the care he needed. Obinna even promised to offer Mbugua a job at his company, Oga Obinna Studios, to help him rebuild his career.

Kimani Mbugua has been candid about his struggles with bipolar disorder, which has caused several public episodes in the past. His openness about his condition has further endeared him to his supporters, who rallied behind him during his recovery.

Fans of Mbugua have flooded his social media with messages of encouragement. Comments like “Kimani is back and doing what he loves,” and “We are in the celebration mood together!!! Sooo proud of you,” highlight the widespread admiration and excitement surrounding his return.

Mbugua has also expressed his gratitude for the unwavering support from his fans. In July, he shared his experience from rehab, thanking them for their prayers and support as he worked to regain stability.

As Mbugua teases his comeback, it is clear that his resilience and determination have captured the hearts of many, and his next chapter is one that fans are eagerly awaiting.
