Komu Bernard
An electrical engineer and software developer: Komu Bernard is the Founder of myNGOcareer.com. This business is a job aggregation website that helps match job seekers with opportunities in the NGO sector. He works as a Software Developer at Wezatele Ltd., a startup in Nairobi focusing on implementing SMS ordering solutions for small and medium enterprise distributors. His goal is to cut out inefficiencies in distribution channels.
Komu has a Bachelor of Science in Electrical and Electronic Engineering from the University of Nairobi. He is also certified in web design from Zetech College. Komu is a leader that is constantly improving his knowledge with online courses, and currently, he is open-sourcing a voice-based email system that enables the visually impaired to have access to their emails via a phone call.
As a YALI Fellow, Komu will start a business enterprise that adds value to banana crops produced by farmers in his hometown. He hopes to start a firm that processes sweet bananas into banana chips.
