Digital creator Kris Babyy, real name Christine Irungu, has responded to criticism following her pregnancy announcement. The content creator recently shared the news with her followers, but not everyone reacted positively. A fan sent her a long message, questioning her decision and suggesting she should have waited for a proposal or financial investment before having a child.
The fan argued that Kris had “wasted her beauty” by getting pregnant, comparing her to Tanzanian influencer Pricy Juma, who allegedly secured stability before starting a family. “I’m surprised you got pregnant, and the way you were so beautiful… I expected much from you, I even thought you would be proposed to or someone would invest in you before kids like Pricy Juma. You are very beautiful. You are among the top 10 beautiful content creators. Not with makeup, not natural. Alafu, even though the father is rich, men change fast,” the message read.
The same fan went further, saying she expected Kris to announce achievements such as a house, car, or business rather than a pregnancy. The fan even advised her to terminate the pregnancy if it was unplanned. “The only advice I can give, if not more than 3 months, enda utoe na unyamaze,” the fan wrote, before bizarrely suggesting she would date Kris herself if no man committed to her.
Kris chose to respond publicly, sharing screenshots of the conversation on her Instagram and addressing the issue with confidence. She thanked her supporters and dismissed the negativity. “Not y’all getting pissed off on my behalf. Mnanimaliza! And the lovely comments/assurances? And from moms especially, nawapenda tu sana. Nothing and no one can dictate how I choose to embrace this journey. Msijali, it doesn’t get to me (though nashangaa kama such people are cursed!),” she wrote.
Her response highlighted her decision to remain firm in embracing motherhood on her own terms. By sharing the screenshots, Kris also shed light on the pressure women in the public eye often face when making personal life choices.
Despite criticism, many of her fans congratulated her and offered words of encouragement, especially mothers who related to her experience. Kris’s approach shows a clear message that she is determined to enjoy her pregnancy journey without letting outside opinions control her narrative.
