Bedbugs often referred to as Kunguni in Swahili, are back in Matatus again.

The menace had been there at the middle of 2017, but looks like they are back in full swing to terrorize Nairobi commuters.

Most commuters have complained citing that the matatus plying Eastlands regions are largely to blame. This includes Dandora, Huruma, Kayole, Embakasi and Ruai just top mention a few.

If you need to avoid these matatus, do as much as possible not to use them if you want to be safe.

Makangas aka Matatu touts have thrown the blame to the passengers citing that their vehicles are free from kunguni but the passengers are the one who take them to the matatu.

Matatu Owners Association chairman Simon Kimutai said that they have been trying to encourage touts and drivers to ensure that they keep good hygiene in measures to fight the menace.
