Kenyan project manager and fitness enthusiast Lilian Nganga has opened up about a new chapter in her life, revealing that her son, Utheri, will be starting school next year. In a recent Instagram post, she reflected on how this milestone will free up more time for her, after years dedicated to raising him.

Alongside the update, Lilian hesitantly shared that she is looking for a job, specifically a remote or hybrid role. She admitted she had been reluctant to make this public, fearing that her intentions might be misinterpreted. Lilian was concerned some might link her search to her past as the first lady of Machakos County, a role she held before her high-profile breakup with Alfred Mutua.

Her post also touched on difficult personal experiences, including the loss of her bodyguards in 2017 and the death of her driver, events that left her questioning how society values the lives of those around her. These reflections shed light on the pressures and scrutiny she has faced both as a public figure and in her personal life.

Lilian’s candid update sparked a variety of reactions from Kenyans on social media. Some sympathized with her, noting that celebrity life carries unique challenges. Maitha Charo commented, “Being a celebrity is welcoming stress into your life,” while Clement Mwakio Mkongo added, “Being a celebrity is a headache. You can’t do normal things like board a matatu in peace.” Others debated the appropriateness of her job search, with Magowi Herbert saying, “What a way to solicit for a job.”

The post highlighted the balance Lilian is trying to strike between personal responsibilities and professional ambitions. With Utheri starting school, she is now seeking opportunities that allow her to grow her career while maintaining flexibility.

Her openness resonated with many, demonstrating the real-life pressures celebrities face beyond the public spotlight. Lilian’s journey emphasizes the challenges of transitioning from high-profile roles to everyday responsibilities, and the importance of pursuing work that aligns with personal circumstances.

Her post is a reminder that even public figures navigate career uncertainties and family priorities, navigating social expectations while seeking stability and growth.
