Radio presenter Lion Deh has bravely spoken out for the first time following the heartbreaking death of his young son. According to the radio presenter, his son, Lion Jnr, was playing on the living room sofa when he fell and injured his head. The fall caused the boy to start convulsing, prompting Lion and his family to rush him to a nearby medical center.
“Thank you all for your comforting messages and prayers as my family and I try to accept the will of God,” Lion said in the interview, expressing his gratitude for the support he had received from Kenyans.
The Struggle to Save Lion Jnr’s Life
Upon arriving at the hospital, doctors immediately began treatment. A CT scan revealed that Lion Jnr had suffered bleeding in his brain, which led to the need for urgent surgery.
“He fell from the living room sofa while playing inside the house, injured his head, and started convulsing. We rushed him to the nearest medical center, and after a CT scan, it was discovered that he had bleeding inside his head. He was immediately rushed for a three-hour surgery, which was initially successful,” Lion explained.
However, despite the best efforts of the medical team, Lion revealed that his son’s brain had suffered severe swelling. “Due to the nature of the injury, the brain had suffered and started swelling. He was kept in ICU with the doctors hoping the swelling would stop, but unfortunately, the injury was too severe, and they declared him clinically brain dead. There was nothing more they could do. His life was now being supported by machines,” Lion shared, with deep pain in his voice.
The Heartbreaking Conclusion
Despite the medical team’s efforts, Lion Jnr was declared brain dead, and after a period of uncertainty, the decision was made to let him go.
In his emotional account, Lion expressed his devastation over the loss of his son, stating that the pain was beyond anything he could explain. The family is now trying to find peace in the face of the unimaginable loss, as they continue to grieve the passing of their beloved boy.
