List Of Kenyan Celebs Who Secretly Don’t Worship God

When atheists were doing their thing quietly, nobody, not even the bishops currently preaching brimstone on them bothered to go to them and preach their gospel.

However, ever since a couple of them decided to have a group registered and even went ahead to hold a party. This single move brought out everyone atheists and religious fellows and views are still being exchanged. Well here are some of the prominent atheists in Kenya or those thought to be atheists.

Mwafreeka

The controversial hip hop head would be expected to make such a list. Hs comments views especially in the recent debate on atheists leave no doubt as to where he stands on whether there is a God.

Rama Nyang’

The celebrated news anchor and business journalist Ramah Nyang’ has been open and straight to where he is at this issue. Currently working at CCTV he is on record saying he is an atheist and that he does not see Christianity adding any value to his life.

Tony Mochama

The writer of one of the best known columns, Smitta Smitten several other columns and also a multiple award winning author Tony Mochama does not believe in God nor anything taught in church like heaven and earth and he has been quoted saying as such on several interviews.

Jomo Kenyatta

Here is a shocker am sure to many, the country’s first president hardly believed in any God but had Agnostic views with stronger leanings to the African teachings as evidenced by his fascination with Kikuyu traditional practices. In his book The Trial of Jomo Kenyatta published in 1966 Montagu Slater reveals that Jomo Kenyatta told the judge he was agnostic.

Binyavanga Wainaina

Binyanvanga Wainaina the celebrated Kenyan author did not just make headlines by being among the few high profile people to declare they are gay, he went further to deny his belief in God and religion.

Boniface Mwangi

The avid activist and outspoken photo-journalist describes himself as an idealist. His open mindedness in many of the ideas frowned upon by religions has had many questioning his beliefs and his recent quotes on the matter raised even more questions when he said

“Atheists are far much better than those people who pretend to believe in God/Allah to rip us off.”

Dr. Richard Leakey

Kenya’s leading anthropologist is understandably an atheist. I mean you really will struggle to merge evolution with religion. Dr. Richard Leakey is a self described atheist.

Waga Odongo

Waga Odongo is another celebrated columnist who spares little time on niceties for the religious stuff. The nation write of the Wag column is also a self described atheist.

Majani

One of the most celebrated young entrepreneurs in the new tech business in the country, Samuel Majani is an atheist. The self taught entrepreneur is open about his view on the existence of a deity which he declares no n existent.

Chiumwani Obiajulu

Mpsaho’s editor is another writer joining the rather long list of atheist writers. He professes to be a traditionalist believing in his Igbo gods.

Willy Mutunga

The outgoing Chief Justice is a man many will never get to have even a close grasp of where he stands aside from judicial matters. He caused quite a stir when he said he has his earring on to communicate with ancestral spirits.
