Influencer Lydia Wanjiru is breathing a sigh of relief after her boyfriend, Kisumu-based club promoter Frank Doso, was discharged from the hospital following a severe fall that left him fighting for his life. The couple’s journey over the past two weeks has gripped the hearts of many Kenyans online, and Lydia took to social media to express her gratitude and share the miraculous update.
Frank Doso had been hospitalized after falling from the fourth floor of a building in Kisumu. The fall resulted in multiple injuries, including a fractured pelvis, severe muscle tears, internal bleeding, and acute kidney complications that required dialysis. Following an intense eight-hour surgery, he was transferred to the High Dependency Unit (HDU) where he remained under critical observation. His condition had sparked a wave of support, as Lydia appealed to fans and well-wishers for both prayers and financial help to cover his medical costs.
On Tuesday, July 29, Lydia announced the joyous news that Frank had been officially discharged. In a heartfelt Instagram post, she praised God for granting them healing and thanked followers for standing by their side throughout the trying time. “It’s truly a good morning. Yes, @frank_doso_ was discharged yesterday. This is a testimony because two weeks ago, this didn’t seem possible. But God, God truly listened and answered each of our prayers,” she wrote. “Thank you for standing with us throughout and for the incredible support. May the good Lord also come through for you in your time of need.”
Although Frank is finally home, Lydia made it clear that the road to full recovery is far from over. She revealed that he will continue to undergo physiotherapy, take medication, and attend regular medical check-ups to monitor his healing process. “As the recovery is still ongoing, especially on physiotherapy, medication, and regular check-ups, we still ask for your prayers. What God can’t do doesn’t exist,” she added.
In another update shared on her Instagram Stories, Lydia posted a touching moment as a friend helped escort Frank from the hospital. He was seen walking slowly with shoulder support, signaling just how far he has come since the accident. “It_Zaddy_Official, thank you for coming to help take back home,” she captioned the video.
The emotional posts didn’t end there. In a black-and-white photo capturing Lydia kissing Frank on the forehead, she celebrated his resilience and determination. “Babe, you’ve fought out of that bed so well. Even your doctors are amazed by your determination to recover. You promised me that we will go home soon and you fulfilled. I promised I won’t leave your side and I fulfilled. That’s teamwork @frank_doso_,” she wrote.
The couple’s story has resonated widely across Kenya, inspiring fans with their unity, love, and faith in the face of adversity. While many are relieved to see Frank out of immediate danger, messages of continued support and well-wishes continue to pour in as he embarks on his next chapter—healing, slowly but surely, surrounded by love.
