Popular Kenyan TikToker Lydia Wanjiru has opened up about the financial price she received for giving her ex, Frank Doso, a second chance before their final breakup. The revelation came during a candid interview with Radio Jambo, where Lydia shared details about her motivations and expectations in relationships. Lydia and Frank first split in early 2025 amid allegations of infidelity on his part. Once hailed as a social media “power couple” for their affectionate posts, their breakup left fans disappointed. Lydia confirmed the split on her platforms, stating: “I’m just disappointed and disgusted with how it ended, and it’s not on me!” She added that she had no plans to reconcile, emphasizing her decision to move on.

Frank publicly took responsibility and expressed his desire not to lose Lydia, which eventually led to a reunion. However, Lydia disclosed that it was not only Frank’s apology that swayed her but also the money he gave her. During the interview, Lydia revealed: “He was really apologetic. I had my demands, which he did not meet, them all- but he gave me KSh 1 million. I love money.” She added that the money helped her restock and renovate her shop, explaining, “My love is for sale – not for free. Why not gain something if I am giving you something that you want? You get something, and so do I. People pretend that they love you unconditionally.”

When asked if a larger sum, like KSh 5 million, would make her return to Frank, Lydia firmly said no. She cited embarrassment, disrespect, and personal safety, saying, “The embarrassment, the disrespect, is beyond that money. Plus, my credibility is on the line. My love is for sale, but I should not place myself in disrespectful positions- I could get HIV, and I love my life.”

Lydia also emphasized her desire for independence in relationships. She stated, “I love my space- I thrive in solitude. When I start dating people, my life, including my work, usually stops. No kids, no marriage.” Her candid discussion sheds light on her priorities: financial independence, personal space, and self-respect. Lydia Wanjiru’s story highlights a shift in how some young Kenyans approach love and relationships, prioritizing autonomy and personal growth over societal expectations or romantic pressure.
