Makueni County Public Service Board is a body corporate established under Section 57 of the County Governments Act 2012 whose mandate includes appointing persons to hold or act in the offices of County Public Service
In order to strengthen the capacity of the Public Service, the Board wishes to recruit competent and qualified persons to fill the following positions as per Article 176 of the Constitution of Kenya 2010 and Sections 45, 50 and 51 of the County Governments Act 2012.
DEPARTMENT OF HEALTH SERVICES
- KENYA REGISTERED COMMUNITY HEALTH NURSE III (KRCHN III): (50 POSTS)
Terms of Service: One (1) year contract
Salary: KShs. 30,000/=
Duties and responsibilities
– Providing preventive and promotive healthcare services
– Making simple diagnosis
– Conducting delivery
– Prescription and treatment of common diseases
– Providing health talks, health education and counseling services
– Administering drugs, vaccines, and contraceptives
– Performing simple surgical procedures
– Referring clients with complex or severe conditions to higher treatment centres for comprehensive care and treatment
– Teaching and mentoring other staff
– Any other duties as may be assigned by the immediate supervisor
Requirements for Appointment
– Be a Kenyan citizen.
– Be a holder of Diploma in Community Health Nursing (Kenya Registered Community Health Nurse – KRCHN)
– Be a member of Nursing Council of Kenya
– Possess a valid practicing license from Nursing Council of Kenya
– Satisfy the requirements of Chapter Six of the Constitution of Kenya 2010
– Be a team player with strong interpersonal skills.
- REGISTERED CLINICAL OFFICER III: (20 POSTS)
Terms of Service: One (1) year Contract
Salary: KShs. 30,000/=
Duties and responsibilities
– General diagnosis, care, treatment and rehabilitation of patients’ disease conditions,
– Community diagnosis, care and treatment,
– Disease prevention, surveillance and control,
– Emergency response and clinical care,
– Disaster preparedness and management,
– Health education and promotion,
– Health facility administration,
– Teaching and mentorship of human resources for health at various levels,
– Any other duties as may be assigned by the immediate supervisor
Requirements for Appointment
– Be a Kenyan citizen.
– Be a holder of Diploma in Clinical Medicine and Surgery or Clinical Medicine and Community Health from Recognized institution
– Be a registered member of the Clinical Officers Council
– Possess a valid practicing license from the Clinical Officers’ Council
– Satisfy the requirements of Chapter Six of the Constitution of Kenya 2010
- Laboratory Technologist: (17 POSTS)
Terms of Service: One (1) year Contract
Salary: KShs. 30,000/=
Duties and responsibilities
– Cleaning and sterilizing laboratory glass ware, surfaces and equipment;
– Documenting and receiving samples for analysis;
– Preparing laboratory reagents; carrying out chemical/microbiological analysis on samples (food, water, waste waters and beverages);
– Extracting, isolating and identifying drugs, pesticides and heavy metals from biological and miscellaneous samples;
– Disposing laboratory waste
– Any other duties as may be assigned by the immediate supervisor
Requirements for Appointment
– Be a Kenyan citizen.
– Be a holder of Diploma in Medical Laboratory Technology
– Be a registered member of KMLTTB
– Certificate in computer applications skills
– Possess a valid practice license from KMLTTB
– Satisfy the requirements of Chapter Six of the Constitution of Kenya 2010
DEPARTMENT OF EDUCATION AND ICT
4. Youth Polytechnic Instructors: (10 POSTS)
Terms of Service: Three (3) years Contract
Garment Making (Tailoring and Dressmaking) – 2 posts
Hairdressing and Beauty Therapy – 1 post
Carpentry and Joinery – 2 posts
Masonry – 2 posts
ICT – 1 post
Metal Processing (Arc/Gas welding) – 1 post
Leather Works – 1 post
Duties and responsibilities
– Theoretical and practical instruction of trainees in the specified area of specialization.
– Preparing and maintaining professional documents including schemes of work.
– Preparing lesson plans, lesson notes, trainee records, teaching and learning materials, carrying out trainee assessments.
– Ensuring proper care and maintenance of tools and equipment
– Organizing and conducting co-curricular activities
– Maintaining trainee discipline and offering guidance and counseling to trainees
– Any other duties as may be assigned by the immediate supervisor
Requirements for Appointment
– Be a Kenyan citizen.
– Grade I or its equivalent in the respective Technical field
– KCSE D (Plain) and Above
– Teaching experience of at least 2 years in a youth polytechnic or vocational training institution.
– Diploma in Technical Education or ToT Certificate will be an added advantage
– Computer literacy will be an added advantage
– Satisfy the requirements of Chapter Six of the Constitution of Kenya 2010
