Research on the possible health effects of marijuana follows. And the most recent, by specialists at the University of Bonn in Germany, has revealed that it can have rejuvenating effects on memory, preventing and preventing its deterioration.

The tests were performed on eighteen-month-old mice (typically live for about two years), and the study authors found that cognitive impairment was negligible in rodents given low doses of one of the compounds of the invention. Marijuana In contrast, it was evident in those specimens that did not receive any doses.

And that compound that has worked the miracle is none other than tetrahydrocannabinol, which is the main psychoactive constituent cannabis. Of course, the authors of the study affirm that one has to be cautious, since the results of moment are not extrapolables to the human being. The cause? That, as the researchers say, although eighteen months are many for a mouse, it can not be compared to 70 or 80 years of human.

There is therefore a lack of research. The former will be performed again with mice, to see if the effects on memory are maintained in the longer term. And, only if the results are positive, then the option of testing their effects on the elderly will be considered.
