Popular DJ Afro commentary movies have been banned from the public air.
According to Kenya Film and Classification Board boss Ezekiel Mutua, the movies must be first submitted for their age suitability.
Today KFCB management met with the controversial James Muigai aka DJ Afro, his promoter and manager following our banning of his unpalatable content aired on Gikuyu TV and also distributed by unscrupulous business people and exhibited in public places without approval by the Board. DJ Afro admitted the illegality of his actions and took responsibility for the same while pointing out that the content being distributed and exhibited across the country is an illegal reproduction of his works done many years ago.

DJ Afro whose commentary is another version of English translation mixed with his own creativity comedy, had been questioned over his use of vulgar languages while doing his work. He has been in the industry atleast for more than 20 years.
“It was agreed that the Board will communicate its position to the Ministry of Interior and Coordination of National Government to have the culprits arrested and the illegal material destroyed and that Gikuyu TV will suspend forthwith the airing of unrated material. All content generated by DJ Afro will be submitted for examination and classification for age suitability.”
