Cynthia Wanjiru Gitonga, wife to Embakasi West MP George Theuri is one of the suspects whose cars were confiscated by detectives over tax evasions.
The luxury cars had been disguised as semi-trailers.
But the MP has dismissed the claims of evading duty imposed on imported vehicles
The lawmaker agreed that the vehicle in question ( Mercedes Benz GLA-200 registration KCR 565 W in 2018 )belonged to his wife, but denied tax evasion claims
“The vehicle was bought in a showroom and prior to purchasing it, a motor vehicle search revealed that everything was okay,” he said.
Police also nabbed more vehicles from a home of a Nairobi County top official, which had been registered as motorbikes
