My Favourite Ex
My favourite Ex
Is this girl I loved and left without sex
Our love was shared in the letters we wrote
Spiced with stickers and stamps we bought.
The promises were penned on paper
And faults in love erased by a rubber
Though on different sails
We held hands in the mails.
I heard your whisper between the lines
And kept your voice within the files
Years later I still hear you
As I read the letters through.
The paper was our park
And the pen our love’s mark
We held hands in dreams
To wake up with smiles and gleams.
The ink was our rains
In which we kissed to drain the pains
The post office was our shore
Where docked the letters we adore.
You wrote to my heart
Like pen and paper we wouldn’t part
And I felt your perfect hug
When I read the closing tag;
‘If you be the paper,I’m the pen
Let me write my love on you Ben…’
We kissed by the pen’s tip
Deep on paper the feelings did drip
We were lost in our letter world
A world built on a single word:
Love.
Our love was made in the mind
My pen-is a manhood of a kind
The pages flipped open like your thigh
And the tales were written with a sigh.
We just stopped writing letters
And tore the ones we filed to tatters
I don’t remember saying bye
Or maybe I wrote it with an invisible dye.
But when I sit to count on my past
You are a part I call twice;first and last
My Favourite Ex
The girl I loved and lost without sex!
