Nyaboke Moraa, a well-known Kenyan actress, is once again in mourning, following the recent passing of her father-in-law, Dr. Benard Aende Ogada. This tragic loss comes just three months after the heartbreaking death of her firstborn daughter, Marie Achieng, on July 28, 2024.

Blak Aende, Nyaboke’s ex-partner, shared the devastating news on social media, paying tribute to his father as a pillar of strength and wisdom. In his heartfelt message, he wrote, “The Aende family announce the passing on of our beloved father. He was a pillar of strength, love, and wisdom whose legacy will forever be cherished. We appreciate your thoughts, prayers, and support during this difficult time.”

A Year of Grief

Nyaboke took to her own social media platform to express her sorrow, recalling the deep bond she shared with her father-in-law. She reflected on her last conversation with him and how it resonated after the recent loss of their daughter. “On 28th July, my daughter rested; it has been tough. Three months later, my solid rock, her grandpa, has decided not to wake up. This man who I love to death loved me unconditionally,” she shared, expressing her profound grief.

Her father-in-law’s final words to her, “Nyargot baby, I love you and God loves you so much, tulia tu mama,” have become a poignant reminder of their connection, leaving Nyaboke in deep emotional pain. She continued, “I am in so much pain, so much I feel like I am losing it. Rest in peace, baba. Hii mwaka nayo imeamua kupumzika ntapimzikia mbinguni.”

Community Support

The news of the Aende family’s double tragedy has drawn an outpouring of condolences from fans and fellow Kenyans. Many took to social media to offer words of comfort. Messages like “My dear sister! You have really had a rough year. I am so sorry. I pray that you find comfort and peace,” exemplify the community’s support during this trying time.

Nyaboke and Blak Aende previously honored their daughter in an emotional funeral service held on August 10, where they broke down in tears as they laid her to rest. The couple has now been faced with the additional burden of losing a loved one in quick succession, further deepening their grief.

As Nyaboke Moraa navigates this period of profound loss, the love and support from her community serve as a reminder of the strength found in unity during difficult times. The journey of healing will be long, but the cherished memories of both her daughter and father-in-law will undoubtedly remain in her heart forever.
