General Manager
Kenya Airfreight Handling Limited (KAHL), a subsidiary of Kenya Airways Group is a company that specializes in handling of perishables for export. The handling cold-room facility is known as Triple F (Fresh Flexible & Fast) and is customs bonded and regulated. Services include – acceptance of pre-booked cargo consignments, weighing, temperature and packing quality checks, x-ray scans, pallet & container building, cold storage, pre-cooling etc.
We are looking to hire through the mother company – Kenya Airways, an equal to task individual to run KAHL. Reporting to the KAHL Board of Directors, the ideal candidate will develop the KAHL strategy, oversee marketing initiatives, portfolio growth while managing wide range portfolio of perishable air cargo handling services at the KAHL (Triple F) terminal handling facility within the relevant regulations, contractual provisions and customer service level agreement (SLAs).
Key duties and Responsibilities:
- Develop KAHL strategy and oversee its implementation.
- Contribute to the definition and development of the KAHL product portfolio, particularly the cool chain cargo handling services.
- Develop attractive and cost-effective cool chain service offerings for the perishable exporters at JKIA airport
- Provide for an efficient and effective organizational structure to deliver agreed scope and standard of service.
- Drive the commercial engagement, sales and customer services to both airline and freight forwarders clientele.
- Ensure optimization of manpower, staff levels/shift patterns.
- Ensure suitably trained/qualified personnel are recruited/retained/developed.
- Develop and champion a security and safety culture within KAHL in compliance with relevant legislative/industry requirements.
- To ensure a healthy working environment in accordance with relevant industry and legislative requirements for personnel working in cargo operations.
- Routine monitoring of safety and quality critical activities within the operations.
- Ensure conformity with all regulatory requirements, organization standards and local procedures.
- Liaise with the relevant authorities, customer airlines and other operationally relevant external parties.
- Manage stakeholder relationships and the meeting of contractual obligations as well as customer SLA.
- Perform related duties as assigned by the Board of Directors.
Knowledge, Skills, and experience
- Relevant University Degree in a relevant field.
- IATA Diploma or relevant professional qualification
- 10 years of customer service experience in logistics/distribution industry – 4 must be in managerial position
- Excellent communication, interpersonal & presentation skills.

Senior Legal Counsel
The role of Senior Legal Counsel serves as primary point of contact and source of advisory on all open and anticipated legal cases for and against the company across the network. The incumbent will be required to provide legal support and advisory services across the network through proactive identification, communication, and mitigation of all legal risks in line with overall business strategy. He/she will be required to manage all legal risks on assigned Company commercial legal transactions as well as litigation proceedings and progress within assigned units or stations as guided by Departmental Team Leader (Company Secretary & Director Legal, Risk and Compliance) and appointed external Lawyers.
Principle Accountabilities:
- Provide legal advice and preventive lawyering to both Hub and all outstations, aid in identifying significant legal obligations, risks, and opportunities to ensure that legal problems and risks are identified and dealt with before they emerge as significant risks to the business.
- Represent and dictate the interests of the Company in matters contracts including Commercial, Joint Ventures, Financing, Aircraft Leases, Registration, Procurement/tendering both locally and all outstations.
- Provide solutions and incorporate clauses that give KQ breathing space in commercial contracts.
- Be the central point in company for all litigation matters and manage all legal issues at the Group and country level in liaison with external legal counsel or third parties.
- Manage the process of engaging external counsel, including effective instructions to external counsel and negotiating appropriate fee structures for all legal engagements.
- Review and/or prepare all legal instruments entered into by the company to ensure that the company’s interests are protected.
- Provide advice to all stakeholders on corporate authorities and work closely with the senior management to ensure relevant board and committee approvals are obtained on a timely basis.
- Develop instruments for use, governance related documents, templates that supports operations at Legal.
- Prepare legal and quasi-legal documentation such as proxy forms, powers/delegations of attorney, tender documentation and liaise with the notaries to arrange for documentation to be legalized.
- Assist with filing of documentation in other jurisdictions for updates to the company international locations and subsidiaries, business and trade registrations and license renewals.
- Brief and monitor external counsel to ensure legal representation is effective.
- Ensure disputes are resolved in a manner that safeguards the company’s position.
- Provide general competition law advice to the business and conduct training on competition compliance.
- Managing the company’s intellectual property portfolio in conjunction with external counsel and the marketing team.
- Effective management and development of the direct reports, including individual performance development, objective setting, and performance support, requisite mentorship, and career coaching in relation to the delivery of day-to-day tasks and projects.
- Any other assignments of legal nature as delegated by the Departmental Director.
Knowledge, Skills and experience:
- Bachelor’s Degree in Law (LL. B) from a recognized university.
- Diploma in law (KSL).
- Master’s Degree in Law (LL.M), Master of Business Administration (MBA) and Certification in Certified Secretary or any other relevant Legal certification or training will be added advantage.
- Minimum of 8 years Post Admission/Qualification experience preferably in litigation or commercial law practice.
- Demonstrable knowledge in aviation laws and regulations.

Data Measurement Specialist
Reporting to the E-Sales Manager, the ideal candidate will be responsible for providing digital retail management information using web trends tools as well as analyzing and reporting online data, such as search terms, conversation paths, webtrends and clickstreams, then making recommendations. He/she will also be responsible for offering a solid understanding of digital user behaviour based on their analysis and recommends new strategies based on information gained.
Principle Accountabilities:
Business tracking
- Lead all web analytics tracking initiatives; mainly using Google Analytics: Generate tracking code (standard/custom), troubleshoot existing implementation, and use Google Tag Manager to implement products and services.
- Guide business through complex technical implementation such as: code, pixels, analytics setup and other technical components to ensure all sales campaigns are set up in accordance with campaign goals. Manage all online tracking codes performance in an efficient way.
Reporting
- Analyze visitor level data to understand user behaviour across devices (mobile, tablet, and desktop) and marketing channels (Earned, Paid Search, Display, Direct, Social, and Referrals).
- Report on the state of the various E-commerce channels and channels that drive demand, including catalog and direct mail (i.e. trends and performance compared to previous year and plan).
- Analyze variance in KPI’s versus plan and conduct cost-benefit analysis of new initiatives being evaluated for potential implementation. Monitor and report on results for E-commerce.

E-Payment Specialist
The ideal candidate will define and execute payment strategy for KQ online platforms; Responsible for reporting and detecting payment anomalies, successes rates and trends and clearly communicate on status of actions and issues to improve current success/conversion rates. Provide KQ with accurate and reliable monitoring task in online payments which increases customer satisfaction, improve conversion rates and decline costs resulting from lost sales.
Key accountabilities/ Responsibilities:
- Measure on regular intervals the success rates of the various payment options split over the various countries (POS).
- Compare the success rates of the same payment options over the various payment providers and front-end tools (EBT, MMB, ICI).
- Measure both pro-active as well reactive other payment related transaction results (materialization, inquiries) and report on these to the business stakeholders.
- Encourage the use of AMOP to reduce on online payment cost for acceptance and other related costs.
- Perform daily payment monitoring by using the various systems optimally.
- Be the key player/user and linking pin for the Amadeus Payment Manager (APM).
- Play a pro-active role in monitoring at times where errors can be expected like releases and Maintenance and System Upgrades at the side of Payment providers.
- Pro-actively and adequately report on payment incidents to the relevant parties.
- Assist and advice how the Payment Monitoring can be improved.
- Represent E-payments in the debriefing of Payment Incidents Meetings with external parties.
- Monitor on regular intervals the e-Payment admin tool to check correct settings, report on findings.
- Manage ABR-sheets (Amadeus Business Rules) and Office ID’s.
- Initiate authorization reversals at instigation of sales organization in case of double authorization with acquiring bank.
- Perform an active role in the testing of payment options after new release /deployments of the various user interfaces.
- Become the central function for the various departments in respect to testing credit cards for test activities to avoid payments devices (card & readers) being scattered over the organization and to minimize fraud resulting from multiple users.
- Keep test logs and have access to test logs of other departments.
- Perform testing once a new FOP has gone live on the various user interfaces. Testing to be performed over the various systems.
- Make sure the back-office process (creating internal refund, voiding tickets and reconciliation) are handled properly.
- Safeguard the integrity of the live payment options by making sure it is known who have performed which actions with the payment devices.
- Gather knowledge to keep abreast of new developments in e- payments.
- Manage all costs related to payments and in liaison with e-sales team Identify efficient alternative payment methods which have list cost and implement in different markets.
- Manage and maintain PCI DSS compliance with the different suppliers.
- Develop and execute MOTO payment plan in line with PCI DSS requirements.
- Define and maintain multi payment experience across the online platforms.
