Renowned preacher Pastor T Mwangi has shared an inspiring story about how he helped photographer Kapedo, who was on the verge of giving up and returning to his village after struggling to make ends meet in the city. The story of Kapedo’s journey has moved many Kenyans, especially upon learning that he never attended a photography school but has since become one of the most sought-after photographers in the country.

Kapedo’s Struggles Before Success

Before making a name for himself in the creative industry, Kapedo was a poet and spoken word artist. However, financial struggles pushed him to the edge, and he contemplated leaving Nairobi to return to his rural home. Hopeless and defeated, he visited Pastor T’s church, seeking prayers before heading back to the village.

Pastor T recalled the moment, saying, “Two years ago, Kapedo came to my office, to church, so that I could pray for him to go home. He was coming on a Sunday for release prayers. But I sat down with him and saw his potential.”

Pastor T’s Life-Changing Gift

Kapedo had a dream of becoming one of Kenya’s top photographers but lacked the resources to make it a reality. He had no formal training and did not own a camera. Despite this, he had a clear vision—he wanted to capture high-end events rather than just any gig that came his way.

Pastor T initially thought Kapedo’s standards were too high but was moved by his determination. In an act of faith, he gifted Kapedo a camera and encouraged him to use his skills to earn a living rather than relying on others for support.

“I told him, ‘I’m going to give you a camera so that I don’t have to keep giving you food. Use it to work and grow.’ He got the camera and told me, ‘I will not fail you. I will make you proud.’”

A Rising Star in Photography

Seven months after receiving the camera, Kapedo returned to Pastor T with a major milestone—he had acquired photography lenses worth nearly KSh 1.6 million. His dedication and hard work had paid off, and he was well on his way to fulfilling his dream.

Today, Kapedo is one of Kenya’s most followed photographers, capturing breathtaking moments for top clients. His success story has inspired many, proving that resilience, faith, and a helping hand can turn one’s life around.

Kenyans React to Kapedo’s Journey

Many Kenyans praised Pastor T for his generosity and Kapedo for his determination. Some expressed admiration for his ability to master photography without formal education, while others saw his journey as a lesson in perseverance.

As Kapedo continues to thrive, his story remains a testament to the power of mentorship, faith, and the belief that no dream is too big to achieve.
