Bob Collymore’s memorial service was held at All Saints Cathedral in Nairobi on 4th of July 2019.

The remembrance service happened just two days after his death on 1st of July and one day after his cremation at Kariokor.
His wife, Wambui Kamiru, gave a very moving speech that revealed to Kenyans the other side of Bob Kenyans never heard off.
Her speech, was nothing less than a loaded piece of writing with loads of life lessons from Bob.
We gathered key quotes revealed through his wife Wambui Kamiru.
- You can do a lot for others who do not have much… A person’s a person no matter how small
- Never be ashamed of who you are. Never apologise for what you have. Never let people decide how you should feel about yourself. Be proud of yourself and your achievements
- One must leave when the applause is loudest. Bob left when the applause was loudest
- You can do a lot with what you have, no matter your size . You are never too small to make a difference in the world.
- Ordinarily, when we pay respects to those we love, we give one minute of silence, Bob has chosen to give us all 8 minutes of music.
- Bob’s friends gave him the name ‘Kihara’ and when they went to visit him next, his wife (Wambui Collymore) had put up a sign with the name ‘Kihara’ on it
- ‘Bob believed in people more than profits, that people and profits did not have to be mutually exclusive’ ~ Safaricom Chair Nicholas Ng’ang’a pays tribute to Bob Collymore
