In almost 10 years, the United States had not suffered any fatal accident in any of its airplanes, but the Southwest company has lived this 17th Tuesday April 2018 one to 32,000 feet of the ground (one 10 km).
Apparently, one of its engines exploded in mid-flight without really knowing the causes and caused the breakage of one of the windows.
This caused it to partially suck a 43-year-old woman, Jennifer Riordan, a mother of two who was sitting right next to where the explosion occurred.
Quickly, several passengers tried to bring her back.
The plane was down at thousands of feet per minute to make an emergency landing as soon as possible.
The plane, Boeing 737-700, suffered the explosion just 20 minutes after taking off from LaGuardia Airport in New York on its way to Dallas.
Although the passengers tried to plug the hole with several objects it was difficult to get it and these were also sucked hard in the intrepid descent of the plane to the International Airport of Philadelphia.
Once on the ground, of the 144 passengers, 1 of them had to be treated in the hospital while another 12 were evaluated in the place.
The rest, fortunately, came out unscathed but with a great fright in the body because of the experience.
Here one of the passengers, Marty Martinez, who decided to buy WiFi to post videos after the terrible event on Facebook.
At the moment, the company does not dare to affirm with certainty the exact reason why the engine has exploded, in fact it is even expected to take between 12 and 15 months to give an answer to what happened.
Yes, they wanted to point out that the plane was subjected to an inspection two days before the accident.
To give you an idea of what happened, part of the engine has been found in the town of Bernville, about 112 km from the airport from where the plane left.
