Joseph Otieno Obiende has been charged in court for assaulting and robbing Embakasi East MP Paul Ongili aka Babu Owino.
The court was told that Otieno with his other assailants made away with 200 bales of wheat flour valued at Sh420, 000 during the August election period.
Police added that Otieno further assaulted the lorry occupants with the goods before they made away. In the Mayhem, Babu Owino was slapped and floored on the ground by one Otieno.
Babu had met his voters at Tassia estate to gift them before Christmas holiday.
Otieno’s case will be heard again in October 17th after he denied the allegations. He was released on a half a million bond
