COTU Secretary and Trade unionist Francis Atwoli has been accused by second wife Roselinda Atwoli of forcefully kicking her and their 13 year old son from their posh mansion in Kileleshwa, Nairobi city.
The woman who recorded a statement with the police on Tuesday 23rd August narrated that a simple visit to their son was transformed into a bitter exchange of words, leading to a forceful eviction with the boy at around 7pm from the apartment they bought in 2006.
Roselinda who unsuccessfully vied for West Webuye Parliamentary seat in 2017 general elections had been granted permission by FIDA to visit her son, after Atwoli had taken him back in January 2018.
Atwoli has broken the silence over the drama, saying that he only allowed the mother to visit the son, but overstayed beyond the welcome hours.
‘I allowed her to come and visit the kid but not spend the night. I have a first wife who does not behave like Roselinda. She respects our marriage,’ Atwoli said.
Roselinda says that she met Atwoli and got married about 22 years ago before marriage problems emerged in 2015. The 53 year old mother of 5 kids said that then Atwoli was charming.
Out of the five she got two kids with Atwoli.
Drama took a different dimension in 2016 when Atwoli wrote a discontinuation letter to their daughter’s college in South Africa who was studying in an aviation college.
As the mother recalls, Atwoli has backed out and does not support her financially, neither does he stop insulting her. The woman though admits Atwoli has never assaulted her but her life has been chaotic.
Roselinda also recently denied Atwoli’s claims in media that she defied his advice not to join politics.
Atwoli has since moved ahead and married a third wife, KTN Anchor Mary Kilobi.
