Kenyan singer and actress Sanaipei Tande has stirred conversation with her candid views on breakups and maintaining peace with former lovers. In a recent interview with Dr. Ofweneke, the Amina hitmaker made it clear that she believes exes can and should remain cordial — unless there were extreme circumstances in the relationship.

“Why are we angry?” Sanaipei asked rhetorically. “It just didn’t work. That is so much nonsense, I think so. I mean, unless you were with somebody who used to beat you a good one, or bring other ladies or men to the house… unless it was something that extreme, I don’t see any reason why you should not have a cordial relationship with your ex.”

The singer’s mature and peace-driven approach challenges the common narrative that breakups must end in bitterness or complete silence. According to her, unless there was abuse or betrayal involved, there’s no valid reason to burn bridges. She added, “Life is short. No hard feelings. Keep moving.”

Sanaipei even went a step further to say she wouldn’t mind giving her ex-boyfriend advice about new relationships — if he asked. “If the ex is asking me, ‘what do you think about that chile?’ I will be honest with you,” she said, adding a light-hearted twist: “If anything, find him a chile!”

However, the entertainer was also quick to draw boundaries. While she’s open to kindness and friendly interactions, she’s not about to be a relationship fixer. “The one thing I don’t do, honestly — I don’t hook people up. That one, I do not want to be caught in the middle of nonsense,” she emphasized. Sanaipei expressed that she doesn’t want to be pulled into long complaints about new partners or messy emotional entanglements.

Fans were quick to share mixed reactions. While some agreed with her sentiments, others strongly disagreed. Still, Sanaipei’s words echoed with many who believe in emotional growth and forgiveness after breakups.

Previously, Sanaipei made headlines after publicly challenging radio host Maina Kageni for his long-standing remarks that she had refused to have his child. She stated that the narrative had followed her for years and misrepresented her choices.

Despite the occasional controversy, Sanaipei continues to promote a message of emotional maturity, kindness, and growth. Her views serve as a reminder that not all love stories end in war — some simply evolve into different chapters of understanding and mutual respect.
