This annual 19th edition of SAWA SAWA Festive will be going down from 18-19 March at Sarakasi Dome an art theatre house located in Ngara, which is about 2KM from Nairobi CBD. The event is free of charge. It is sponsored by Danish Centre for Culture and Development, Hennessy, Stitching DOEN and PROEM.
Friday VIP from 8pm will have some of the Kenya’s best-celebrated artists such as Gloria Muliro, DJ Joe Mfalme and Adelle Onyango of Kiss 100. Adelle Onyango will be the master of ceremony.
Then on Saturday from 2pm, the session dubbed StreetDJFACEOOF shall be buzzed by electrifying Kenyan DJs of all the time such as DJ Arika, DJ Mantix, DJ Gibbs and VantheDJ.
At 8pm on the same Saturday, Abbas, NafsiHuru, Smallzlethal, Lavosti, Lness, Mc Arigi, Sarakasi All Stars and DJ Kace will entertain the jam session.
In spirit of supporting homegrown talent, the event will be focusing on Sarakasi Trusts 15 years of supporting the homegrown talent and giving the youths a chance to better themselves.
Sarakasi Trust initiated the annual festive in 2002 to create a unique festive with an African cultural identity. It is a platform through which young upcoming talents can be natured and promoted across Kenya and exposed to the outside continent
Among the events that shall be showcased include street Djs competition; performances from artists such as Rabbit, dance, acrobatics and Hip hop hook-up.
