In a shocking morning, it was not business as usual at Kilingili Market, which is based on the border of Kakamega and Vihiga County.

On the nightfall, unknown robbers killed five guards before making away with sh.30,000, cigarettes, and credit cards from the nearby shop.

According to Caleb Miano, whose dad was among the dead, his dad who had worked at the local market had complained of insecurity and called for action in the recent days.

My father was complaining about insecurity issues in the area and that people have been attacked but no action had been taken,” he said.

Locals are now calling on police to step up and provide humble security.
