Stephen Hawking, one of the most important and well-known scientists of all time, died at dawn on Wednesday at his home in Cambridge, England, at age 76.
Hawking was known for his work in theoretical physics, cosmology and quantum mechanics, as well as being one of the great voices of the 21st century.
A man who was always one step ahead of the rest, with his famous predictions about the future of humanity, extraterrestrial life, artificial intelligence and, above all, with a great sense of humor.
As his family has reported:
He was a great scientist and an extraordinary man whose work and legacy will last for many years.
Hawking was diagnosed with ALS in 1963 at the age of 21 years. Then they gave him two years of life, however, and against all odds, He has continued with his work becoming one of the most important scientists of S. XX and S. XXI.
