We might never know their motive for getting into politics, but we’ve all seen how many Kenyan celebrities have failed terribly during polls. There are those who’ve been lucky and actually won. A good example will be Tanzania’s Professor Jay, ex-Big Brother Africa contestant, Millicent Mugadi, who won a county representative seat in Mombasa and a few others.
Kenyan entertainers like John Kiarie, Ringtone and a few others have failed to convince their fans to go out and vote for them in past elections. Next year, there are other celebrities who are willing to take the ‘big risk’. Will they make it? It’s up to your vote.
These are the Kenyan entertainers who have expressed interest in running for political post come 2017;
#1. Jaguar – It’s likely that the kigeugeu singer will get into the ring with KUSO’s Steve Mbogo to fight for the Starehe constituency member of parliament post. That’s if Jaguar hasn’t changed his mind. (Read post below)
#2. DJ Kaytrixx – The popular DJ has declared that he will be vying for Mikindani county assembly representative seat in the next general elections. Kaytrixx has already started by asking his followers to register as voters.

#3. Cannibal – Ralph Sanda Masai, better known by his stage name Cannibal has revealed that he will be running for Mombasa’s Mtopanga county assembly representative seat on an ODM ticket in 2017.
“I will temporarily quit music as I embark on campaigns; though music runs in my blood. I will officially start campaigning later this month (February),” Cannibal said in an interview.
#4. Ringtone –In 2010, the former gospel singer contested for the Kitutu Masaba parliamentary seat in a by-election but came in 8th. In 2012, he wanted to vie for the Dagoretti North seat but later gave up. Now that he’s quit music, there are chances that the “talanta” singer might try his luck again come 2017.
#5. Ken Wa Maria – Fundamentals star has also apparently been contemplating getting into politics. It’s alleged that he is looking forward to joining the race for a seat in his area.
