University student Stephanie del Valle Diaz, 19, and without previous experience in beauty contests, won Sunday’s 2016 Miss World crown for Puerto Rico by beating 166 other candidates in the Maryland, Washington DC.

The new Miss World 2016, studying Communication at Pace University in New York, where she is part of a special program that will allow her to complete both baccalaureate degrees in six years. She sings, paints, models and speaks fluently Spanish, English and French.
