DCI detectives are currently on the hunt for two Wells Fargo employees who vanished earlier today, absconding with a sum of Sh94 million.
This audacious act occurred at 6 a.m. when the suspects, identified as Daniel Mungai Mugetha (the crew commander) and Anthony Nduiki Waigumo (the driver), discreetly drove the company truck out of Wells Fargo’s Nairobi offices.
They did so immediately after the money-box was loaded, leaving behind the police escort vehicle waiting for departure.
Unbeknownst to the armed escort team, the truck with license plate no. KBA 517T had already departed just moments earlier. The escort team, concerned about the delay in loading, sought clarification from the management. However, neither the truck nor the crew members were to be found.
According to a report from the company’s Investigations Manager, the Isuzu Canter was en route to a bank on Nairobi’s Kenyatta Avenue, carrying Sh94 million on behalf of a well-known supermarket in the country.
Police in Lang’ata were swiftly mobilized to track down the daring duo, but all they found was the empty truck abandoned in South C. A specialized operations team has now been deployed to pursue these suspects.
